Mr. Shiro Yamasaki

AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF JAPAN TO THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Lithuania. Mr. Shiro Yamasaki was born on December 17, 1954 in Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan. He graduated from Tokyo University (Faculty of Law). In 1978, he joined the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MHW), was Deputy Director for Pharmaceutical Affairs in MHW (1987), Director of Japan Trade Center (JETRO) in New York Office (1987), Deputy Director of MHW Minister’s Secretariat (1991), Deputy Director of Welfare Planning Division for the Elderly in MHW (1994). In 2000, Mr. Shiro Yamasaki took the position of  Director of Health and Welfare Bureau for the Elderly in Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), while in 2006 he became the Deputy Director in General for Economic and Fiscal Management of Cabinet Office (CAO), Director in General for Economic and Fiscal Management of CAO (2008), the Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister (2010),  the Director in General, Social Welfare and War Victims’ Relief Bureau of MHLW (2011), the Director in General for Policies on Cohesive Society of CAO (2012), the Deputy Commissioner of Consumer Affairs Agency (2013), the Commissioner of the Headquarter for Overcoming Population Decline and Vitalising Local Economy in Japan, of Cabinet Secretariat (2015).
