Prof. Dainius Haroldas Pauža was born on July 8th, 1962. He graduated from Vilnius University, Faculty of Natural Sciences as master in Zoology. In 1992, he obtained the PhD in Kaunas University of Medicine (currently- The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences). From 2002, he officiated as a full Professor at the Institute of Anatomy in Kaunas University of Medicine. In period of 2008-2018, he served as the member and the chairman of the Research Council of Lithuania. In 2014, prof. Dainius H. Pauža as the Chairman of the Research Council of Lithuania together with prof. Makoto Asashima (the former Executive Director of Japan Society of Promotion of Science, JSPS) initiated the Annual Japan-Lithuania Joint Symposia of Life Sciences. Prof. Dainius H. Pauža is the member of the Lithuanian, European and American Societies of Morphologists and Anatomists. His scientific interest and research areas are Autonomic Neuroscience, Cardiac and Vascular Biology, Neuroanatomy and Neurobiology.
